부천시는 올해 10월부터 7주간 운영하는 ‘2022 부천레지던시 프로그램’에 참여할 해외작가를 모집한다.  

레지던시(Residency)는 호텔식 서비스가 제공되는 특정장소 주거시설로 화가·작가·음악가 등이 특정기관 소속으로 일하는 전속을 뜻한다.

동아시아 최초 문학창의도시로 선정된 시는 교류협력사업 일환으로 해외문학 창의도시의 레지던시 프로그램을 국내에 소개하고 있다.

이 프로그램은 해외작가를 초청, 시를 국외에 널리 알려 부천의 문화가치를 향상하기 위한 것이다.

2020,2021년 입주작가로 초빙됐던 로리 워터맨(영국 노팅험), 제프 노(캐나다 몬트리얼), 타카미 니에다(미국 시애틀) 등은 각각 자국에 돌아가 한국에서 리서치 및 경험을 밑걸음 삼아 창작활동에 나서 부천을 알리고 있다.

특히 영국 노팅험 트렌트 대학교(Nottingham Trent University) 문예창작 부교수로 활발하게 저작활동중인 로리 워터맨(시인, 사진작가)은 2020년 부천에서경험한 라이프를 노팅험 문학창의도시에 연재해 부천을 알렸다.

또 2023년 출판될 네번째 선집에 ‘통일’을 주제로 다수의 시와 사진이 실릴 예정인데 선집의 표지 역시 부천레지던시 기간에 찍었던 사진이 사용된다.

이 프로그램은 문학에 국한하지 않고 만화·번역·그래픽 노블 등 다양한 분야를 대상으로 모집한다.

영어 또는 한국어로 의사소통에 지장이 없고 작품을 한권 이상 출판한 해외작가만 참여할 수 있다.

아울러 아티스트 2명이 한팀으로 지원할 수 있다.

참여자에게 주거 및 창작 지원금(식비 일부)이 지원되고 시청 인근 주택에 거주하며 작품활동을 하게 된다.

참여를 희망하는 해외작가는 부천문학창의도시 공식 블로그에서 지원서를 내려받아(https://blog.naver.com/bucheon_unesco/222685350846) 4월27일까지 이메일 (sunmin0914@korea.kr)로 신청하면 된다.

신청자가 많으면 소정의 심사과정을 거칠 예정이다.

시 관계자는 “부천의 레지던시 프로그램은 부천과 유네스코 창의도시를 잇는 문화교류의 장이 될 것이다”고 밝혔다.

In addition, a number of poems and photos will be published under the theme of "Unification" in the fourth anthology to be published in 2023, and the cover of the anthology will also be taken during the Bucheon Residency.

This program is not limited to literature, but is recruited for various fields such as manga, translation, and graphic noble.

There is no obstacle to communication in English or Korean, and only overseas writers who have published more than one work can participate.

In addition, two artists can apply as a team.

Participants will be provided with housing and creative subsidies (part of food expenses), and they will live in houses near the city hall and work.
